The Pine Martin Is Cute But Formidable Predator

Pine martins are agile tree climbing mammals that belong to the weasel family. The American marten has a range that extends from the northern United States all the way up to Alaska. They average in size from 21-26 inches in length and their bushy tails make up almost a third of that length! They’re usually shy, solitary creatures. While they look cute, they’re an aggressive predator, often hunting other small mammals such as squirrels, mice and chipmunks.  Learn more below.
